Dr. Kevin Goris (°1986) holds both a Master’s degree in Criminology and a Bachelor’s degree in History from the KU Leuven University. In 2014, he successfully defended a doctoral thesis on the recent history of Flemish youth care at the Free University of Brussels. At the Free University of Brussels, he also obtained a Master’s degree in History and a Teaching certificate in the field of Cultural and Social Sciences.
He successively worked as teaching assistant at the Leuven Institute of Criminology (KU Leuven University), researcher at the Crime & Society research group (Free University of Brussels), policy advisor at the Belgian Public Prosecutor’s Office and assistant of a Member of Belgian Federal Parliament in the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee investigating the circumstances of the 22 March 2016 terrorist attacks in Brussels.
In February 2017 he joined the Flemish Peace Institute where he conducts research on firearms, illicit firearms markets and terrorist access to firearms in Belgium and Europe.
